Guide to Booting Horses for Hoof Care Professionals ($26.95) By Jaime Jackson
Interest in my wild horse research and the "natural trim" from the go came from Europe as much as the U.S. Following an invitation to speak in Germany in the late 1990's, I ventured to Switzerland as a guest of the Swiss Horse Boot Company. For years I recognized the need for a quality horse boot for riding purposes. It is not uncommon for horses first coming out of shoes to require boots when ridden, such are the damaging effects of the horseshoe to the horse's foot. While not the total answer to my prayers, the SHB was nevertheless an excellent candidate for me to bring home and recommend to U.S. horse owners. Really the only "custom fitted" boot on the market, the SHB works well when properly fitted by a trained professional. During the 1990's, I trained hundreds of natural hoof care practitioners to fit the SHB. To make matters easier on them, and myself, I wrote this Guide to Booting Horses for instructional purposes. Not only is it an effective teaching aid for professional (and amateur) booters, it also provides comprehensive instructions for using the boots and maintaining them. I can't recommend the SHB enough. And this Guide says it all.
